How to Update SIFL Rates and Recalculate Flight Log Charges in BART

This guide walks through viewing the SIFL rate table and recalculating SIFL charges on flight logs after a rate update.

Video Walk though can be found here.

Step 1: Open the SIFL Rates table

From any screen in BART, click the “Pax” menu in the top navigation bar, then select “All SIFL Rates” from the dropdown.

Step 2: Review the current rates

The “All SIFL Rates” page lists the Terminal Fee and per-mile rates (0–500 SM, 501–1500 SM, 1500+ SM) for each six-month period, grouped by year. Confirm the rate you need to add or check is reflected here before recalculating.

Step 3: Start a recalculation

Click the “Recalc SIFL Charges on Flight Logs” button in the top right of the All SIFL Rates page.

Step 4: Open the Recalculate screen

This opens the “Recalculate Flight Log SIFL Charges” page. It defaults to a Date Range covering recent flight logs.

Step 5: Set the start date

Click into the first Date Range field and enter or select the start date for the flight logs you want to recalculate.

Step 6: Set the end date

Click into the second Date Range field and enter the end date for the recalculation period.

Note: Only flight logs with SIFL passengers inside this date range will be affected.

Step 7: Run the recalculation

Click the “Recalculate” button. A confirmation message appears at the top of the page showing how many flight log legs with SIFL pax were recalculated.

Step 8: Return to the rates table

Click “Back to All SIFL Rates” to return to the rates table and confirm everything looks correct.
