Setting up your email is an essential step that is often overlooked when creating a new user. Learn how to setup your email, allowing you to send emails directly from BART.

1. Navigate to Gear > All Settings - Email > Person Email Setup
2. Fill in From Name, From Email Address, and select whether or not you want to be BCC's on emails.
3. Click button for Use BART's email server (recommended), then click Verify DNS
4. Type in a signature if desired
5. Save the changes. Please wait for the one time initial setup to finish before leaving the setup screen.
If you notice that BART emails are ending up in spam folders or not being delivered, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Add Our Mail Provider's IP Address to Your Safe List
Include the following IP address in your email system's safe list: 198.244.50.199
.
Adjust Your Email Settings
Step 1: After setting up your email settings and saving them, go back to your email setup page.
Step 2: Update the "From Address" domain to use our mail provider's domain format: [companycode].seagilmail.com
.
For example:
If your company code is MainStays
and your current email address is hbayer@portside.co
, your new "From Email Address" should be:
hbayer@MainStays.seagilmail.com
.
Step 3: All replies to hbayer@MainStays.seagilmail.com
will automatically redirect to your original email address, hbayer@portside.co
.
Changes made on the client email server can cause emails being sent from BART to be rejected. Sometimes resetting the email settings corrects the issue.
1. All Settings > Personal Email Setup
2. Select "Use your own email server”
3. Clear All fields
4. Save the changes
