Overview

Quickly see which crew are 61.57 current including sub-component expirations such as night take offs and landings as well as instrument approaches.


Logic

The report looks only at flight logs and simulator logs , it does not look at crew regulations. 



Night Currency Logic

Step 1:
3 night take-offs & landings in the 90 days preceding the day of
the flight in the specific type of airplane or simulator to be flown.

(If Yes, proceed to Step 2. If No, proceed to Step 3)

Step 2:
6 instrument approaches in the 6 months preceding
the month of the flight in any airplane or simulator.

(If Yes, PIC is current. If No, PIC is not current)

Step 3:
3 total take offs and total landings in the 90 days preceding the day of the flight
in the specific type of airplane to be flown (airplane or simulator can be counted)

-AND-

15 hours of flight time in the 90 days preceding the day of the flight in the specific type of airplane to be flow (airplane)

-AND-

3 night take offs and landings in the 6 months preceding the month of the flight in any
turbine airplane. (simulator credits cannot be counted). 
(if yes, proceed to Step 2. If No, proceed to Step 4)

Step 4: 
3 total take offs and total landings in the 90 days preceding the day of the flight
in the specific type of airplane to be flown (airplane or simulator can be counted)

-AND-

15 hours of flight time in the 90 days preceding the day of the flight in the specific type of airplane to be flow (airplane)

-AND-

Completed 6 night takeoffs and landings in last 12 months in any type of turbine powered airplane simulator 
(if yes, proceed to Step 2. If No, pic is not current)


Instrument Currency Logic:

Within the last 6 calendar months…. Performing the tasks in actual or simulator

 6 instrument approaches
 1 Hold procedures
 1 Intercept 


Running Report

The report is accessed by navigating to Flight Logs>Reports >All Flight Log Reports>Crew Reports 

The report can be run for all crew, or just selected crew

 



The report uses the following to determine night currency (based on BART Block Time):

• NIGHT TAKE OFF and NIGHT LANDINGS or,
• (e)(4)(i) below, or,
• (e)(4)(ii) below

The details include the counts for the following sections of the FAA 61.57 regulation:
HOLDING - (c)(1)(ii) Aircraft or Simulator
APPROACH - (c)(1)(i) Aircraft or Simulator
NIGHT TAKE OFF - (b)(1) Aircraft or Simulator
NIGHT LANDINGS - (b)(1) Aircraft or Simulator
TOTAL TAKEOFF - (a)(1) Aircraft or Simulator
TOTAL LANDINGS - (a)(1) Aircraft or Simulator

Troubleshooting

If the flight times do not look accurate, take a look at the Aircraft Type configuration for the 61.57 Flight Log Report. The setting most likely needs to be marked as “Required.”

When the setting is configured as “Not Required,” the report included all aircraft types in the calculation, which can result in inflated flight time totals.

When the setting is configured as “Required,” the report will only include flight time for that specific aircraft type.
